De Debbehoeve: a family afair
Brother and sister Gerard and Stefanie Koks run De Debbehoeve together. Gerard is mainly concerned with breeding and Stefanie takes care of the sport horses and sales. In 2020, De Debbehoeve existed for ten years. The company is the result of the passion the Koks family shares for horses. Horse welfare is a number one priority at De Debbehoeve. The breeding goal is a good, healthy sport horse with great movements and a cooperative character.
When the stable in Warmenhuizen, the place where the Koks family has always lived, was put up for sale the family seized that opportunity with both hands. Gerard: “We started as a boarding stable and after a few years have shifted our focus to breeding, training and selling sport horses.”
Breeding, rearing, training and sales
Every year between ten and fifteen foals are bred at De Debbehoeve. The location at Gerard’s home is the training stable, here are all sport horses that are in training. The breeding stable is adjacent. This is a separate facility so that the breeding horses and sport horses can stay separate.
Two kilometers away at Stefanie’s home is the large rearing stable with large group stables. In winter, the young horses come out in paddocks every day and in summer they stay in the fields day and night. In our rearing there are mostly self-bred horses. Every year we buy two to three foals through, for example, auctions that add something to our own breeding program in terms of bloodlines.
What our customers say about us
I would highly recommend Stefanie Koks when searching for your next horse. I saw Giovanni on a video and thought he was my dream horse. I traveled there based on the video. He was everything I thought he was and more! After the purchase she has been always available and helpful in any was she could.
Stefanie is honest, professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Stephanie for your purchase of your next horse.
